10 FASCINATING PICTURES FROM SSOHIS-LASU ABEOKUTA EXCURSION.
Numerous prominent landmarks can be found across Nigeria but one stands out from the pack for both its aesthetics and historical significance.
Abeokuta is the capital City of Ogun State, Nigeria. It was founded by Shodeke in 1830. Abeokuta can be translated into English as 'Refuge Under the Rock' as the presence of giant rocks that dominates the landscape aided refugees during the disintegration of Old Oyo. The most notable of these rocks happens to be the Olumo Rock which is now a center of Tourist attractions.
The student society of History and international studies, LASU Chapter on excursion decided to visit this historical site and indeed they had fun and learned new things about the rocks you'll never find surfing the web ๐.
However beautiful moments were captured and here are ten pictures you don't want to miss from the excursion.
Number 1.
At number one we have this picture. Here we can see the custodians of rocks right behind the current LASU-SU Social director (Damzy) and beside him is the Faculty of Arts President, Comrade Obafemi and other students from SSOHIS-LASU. The beauty of this picture lies in the house built under a rock.
At number 2 we have the this image captured in tranquility. Here the 21st SSOHIS-LASU President, Comr Faruq is seen placing both hands on his head while standing on a rock. This facial expressions ain't so cool as it appears baba must have been stressed out from the day's stress.
At number 3 we have the Social butterfly, Wicked Boys Entertainment member, current LASU-SU social Director and LASU's biggest DJ, Comrade Oshodi popularly known as Damzy who is is seen clearly imitating an Ostrich at the Wildlife Park, Abeokuta.
At number 4 we have the Faculty of Arts incumbent President seated with a broad smile in the Art gallery situated at the Olumo Rock. Here's a tip!! That Awolowo pencilled image behind is up for sale for just N400,000 only.
At number 5, we can see two love birds on the first day of excursion and arrival at Abeokuta. The gentleman behind is the Current Speaker of SSOHIS-LASU, RT. Hon John Gentle with the gentle smile he's always wearing.
At number 6 we have the flying shot that went viral amidst other flying shots. Finest hypeman in LASU, The Edo Boy on pink hair has his legs balanced in the air. How come??...lol. This picture was taken at the Apex of the rock.
At number 7, this picture comes up. For the first time many of you will see a tree that is growing on a rock as you would disapprove if you heard from somewhere. The tree is referred to as the tree of Doggedness and Resilience for its ability to survive amidst it's environment. Just beside the gentleman is the Deputy speaker of the SSOHIS.
This picture at number 8 was taken at the top of the Rock. These kids don't fear heights. But wait isn't that SSOHIS Sports Director seated on the floor??๐คจ๐ง
At number 9 we have a full house with a full smile at the arts gallery in Olumo Rock.
At number 10, This comes up. The SSOHIS welfare director with a broad smile and the SSOHIS Public Relations Officer stretching out his hands of love to everyone reading this.
There are more beautiful pictures but let's call it a day here. The Excursion was a blast as the gyrations dance, and selfies happened to be the order of the day. you can decide to visit the beautiful city of Abeokuta when you're free. We look forward to seeing you at our next Excursion.
