The Myth Of Being Productive

Image
We tend to consider productivity to be a never ending search for something more. More output, more results, more optimization, more meetings, more things checked off to-do lists. More efficiency. But always being busy is in itself a major distraction from the things that actually touch us, that make us happy. We humans think that what we call “being productive” should automatically fill their void. The hole that they feel eating them away. But, sure enough, it never does. Creating things, achieving things, taking things off to-do lists are all activities that feel amazing a first. It’s like a drug. But we risk ending up focusing so much more on productivity than on what’s really going on underneath ourselves. We keep busy because we actually avoid looking at what’s steaming inside, at how we really think about ourselves. We sacrifice our social lives, our romantic lives, our family life at the altar of checking things off lists and letting this define who you are. We ten...

THE FASA WEEK

Image
H mm, 2023, the beginning of a new year held the outstanding seven old lads of the faculty of arts, Lagos State University ,in anticipation of the most fascinating program of all time, tagged "THE FASA WEEK". The Fasa week consisting of programs such as "THE QUEEN AND KING OF FASA", where by various talented individuals comes out to battle for the crown.    An auditorium filled with so many audience consisting of students, friends and important personnel, screaming and clamoring for the candidate of their choice . A program filled with so much suspense, whereby all hands are on deck to know who wears the crown.    Hmm, the Fasa week, a week whereby a FASA TRADE FAIR is staged, under the beloved and famous Abe-Igi, filled with young and skilled entrepreneurs and so much noise of them clamoring to passersby "sister come and bag clothes", "Brothers I have nice necklaces, please patronize me".   Hmm, the fasa week, where the talented foot...

Lasu Electoral movie: Cast and Characters

Political action is something we feel, breathe and live every second of every day. Political action engulfs us completely in the way we live together and see society. It is something that cannot be denied, it is the reflection of what people want. Our day is marked by continual upheaval and shifting political power. There isn't a day that goes by without some aspect of our world-changing,  Since politics has moulded the modern world, establishing and destroying the most powerful of nations, politics is a fundamental aspect of mankind. While liberating the most downtrodden, it has also been used to dominate the masses. It's no more breaking news that it's that time of the semester when potential candidates for the departmental, faculty, and Lasusu level student elections are advertised on posters, flyers, and even the internet. Although politics gives students a chance to participate in school administration, it also gives them a chance to learn more about how government fun...

Juice Wrld: The man The myth and The legend

Image
The loss of a loved one cannot be avoided, in my opinion. The oddest of all feelings, loss strikes us on a deep level while being pushed upon us from the outside. Even though grieving is unavoidable and death is predestined, we can ultimately choose how we handle the passing of a loved one while we are still living. In doing so, we may make our lives count and motivates others. Loss combines the most challenging and most wonderful component of being human. Why? Because of how much you love that person, the worse the loss is. The more we love, the more we grieve in a bizarre equilibrium. A life without loss is a life without love, so that love is worth it.   Early in December of 2019 Juice Wrld boarded a private plane for what would be his final flight before he passed away. For a man who celebrated life in and out of wax, it was a shattering conclusion. I distinctly recall the first time I heard Lucid Dreams' most well-known song. This particular song captures the moment when a bre...

10 FASCINATING PICTURES FROM SSOHIS-LASU ABEOKUTA EXCURSION.

Image
Numerous prominent landmarks can be found across Nigeria but one stands out from the pack for both its aesthetics and historical significance. Abeokuta is the capital City of Ogun State, Nigeria. It was founded by Shodeke in 1830. Abeokuta can be translated into English as 'Refuge Under the Rock' as the presence of giant rocks that dominates the landscape aided refugees during the disintegration of Old Oyo. The most notable of these rocks happens to be the Olumo Rock which is now a center of Tourist attractions.  The student society of History and international studies, LASU Chapter on excursion decided to visit this historical site and indeed they had fun and learned new things about the rocks you'll never find surfing the web 😜.  However beautiful moments were captured and here are ten pictures you don't want to miss from the excursion.  Number 1. At number one we have this picture. Here we can see the custodians of rocks right behind the current LASU-SU Soc...

It's Not Worth Living a Sassy Life.

It's simple to harbor resentment. It's simple to get furious with someone for the rest of your life after having a falling out or an argument with them. I used to hold onto grudges and think precisely this way, but now I've given it some serious thought and realized that life is too short to hold onto things like that. Don't misunderstand me; I'm not advocating pretending that something never happened or keeping someone in your life if they treat you badly or show you disdain. People may be cruel at times, and we frequently don't deserve how people treat us, so why invest your energy on someone who has nothing to do with you? Be furious at the time; you have every right to vent your feelings; nevertheless, the sooner you can get over your anger, the sooner you will be able to put the situation behind you for good. Dropping your rage over a circumstance can assist you in achieving your goal of happiness, which you deserve to be as happy as possible. Of all, sinc...

YOU HAVE TRANSFORMED????

You've Modified   Probably all of us have heard this at some time... "You've transformed" appears to be regarded as one of the harshest criticisms out there, whether we've been the ones delivering it or the ones receiving it, and I could not be more irritated by the reputation. Humans develop and evolve, therefore it would be a little strange if we didn't occasionally alter. I'm not the same person I was years ago, and I don't want to be, I can readily say looking back. Yes, my pals and I started to drift away when I was 14 because of "change," but change need not be a terrible thing. I wouldn't want to be the same meek, frightened 14-year-old who was hesitant to speak up for what he believed in out of concern that he would be judged. Yes, the me who grew in self-assurance and social skills alienated my old "friends," but in the end, it was for the better. Because of this, occasionally our personalities may alter or we may no l...
