WHY EVERY BUSINESS IN LASU NEEDS A WEBSITE

Image

It's getting harder and harder to stand out in our news feed because they are crowded and louder than before. It is obvious that you must act differently. The internet environment is constantly evolving and quick to change. A well-designed website is necessary for your business to have a strong online reputation. Without it, you will lag behind while your rivals continue to be innovative. Additionally, having a website is a need for all other marketing initiatives you may undertake. Regardless of the industry, a business's internet presence can significantly affect how successful it is. Some companies today are still unaware that the bulk of their clients will visit their website prior to completing a purchase. For producing more income, having a good online presence—especially a website—can make all the difference. Yes, the caliber of your website af...

It's Not Worth Living a Sassy Life.

It's simple to harbor resentment. It's simple to get furious with someone for the rest of your life after having a falling out or an argument with them. I used to hold onto grudges and think precisely this way, but now I've given it some serious thought and realized that life is too short to hold onto things like that. Don't misunderstand me; I'm not advocating pretending that something never happened or keeping someone in your life if they treat you badly or show you disdain. People may be cruel at times, and we frequently don't deserve how people treat us, so why invest your energy on someone who has nothing to do with you? Be furious at the time; you have every right to vent your feelings; nevertheless, the sooner you can get over your anger, the sooner you will be able to put the situation behind you for good. Dropping your rage over a circumstance can assist you in achieving your goal of happiness, which you deserve to be as happy as possible. Of all, sinc...

YOU HAVE TRANSFORMED????

You've Modified   Probably all of us have heard this at some time... "You've transformed" appears to be regarded as one of the harshest criticisms out there, whether we've been the ones delivering it or the ones receiving it, and I could not be more irritated by the reputation. Humans develop and evolve, therefore it would be a little strange if we didn't occasionally alter. I'm not the same person I was years ago, and I don't want to be, I can readily say looking back. Yes, my pals and I started to drift away when I was 14 because of "change," but change need not be a terrible thing. I wouldn't want to be the same meek, frightened 14-year-old who was hesitant to speak up for what he believed in out of concern that he would be judged. Yes, the me who grew in self-assurance and social skills alienated my old "friends," but in the end, it was for the better. Because of this, occasionally our personalities may alter or we may no l...

A Letter to My "Crazy" Acolytes

Image
A Letter to My "Crazy" Acolytes The few who understand my "crazy," I'm aware that I'm not always the most pleasant person to be around. Sometimes my mind takes over, I lose control, nothing feels right, and I start to question all I've learned. I spur you aside, make unintentional comments, and cry. A lot. I hope I could assure you that it won't happen again and that everything is OK and that I'll always be upbeat, encouraging, and "easy to work with," but the reality is that I can't make such a promise. I try to keep as much to myself as possible, But in reality, I can't promise that. I try to keep as much to myself as I can, but I detest it when other people are caught in the crossfire. I am so grateful that you did not let feeling like a bother or having you in my affairs affect how you behaved around me.   I believe that I become frightened and reclusive because I'm so accustomed to having my flaws used against me....

Student life isn’t as easy as it seems…

It’s about time we popped the bubble, parents and friends telling us that we lay about all day eating cans of baked beans, get drunk most nights and constantly try to sponge off them. Well we’re here to out the record straight. IT’S NOT THAT SIMPLE. Except the last one, we may do that a little bit. Let’s bust some of those commonly spread student life myths…  We work, HARD. Yes honestly we do! Many of us are juggling jobs and degrees at the same time. Some have kids and other responsibilities whilst at university. Not everyone is a party animal Similar to the ‘real world’ most people like to go to bed at a reasonable hour and get up at a reasonable hour too. After all we do have work we need to be doing… We do cook Anything from Indomie to cook dinner, we do cook, just sometimes we don’t have the time to! University is about more than just find a job at the end of it For many, university will be there first time living away from home. It’s about becoming se...

Unsung heroes: influential women of 2020

Image
2020 gave us an abundance of stories of powerful and inspirational women. In the US, Vice-President elect Kamala Harris made history when she became the first female vice president, the first African American vice president and the first Asian vice president. The passing of Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg brought to the forefront of our minds everything she had achieved for women’s rights throughout her career. But not every woman who was influential during 2020 found themselves on the front of magazines. Here are some inspiring women who may or may not have made it onto your radar this year. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya During the 2020 Belarusian election, activist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya stepped in at the last minute to run against the authoritarian president Alexander Lukashenko. This came after her husband, who had been running against him in the same election, was arrested. She continued her election campaign even after receiving threats of vi...

How to deal with common flatmate problems

One of the hardest and most stressful parts of living at university is often not the studying and workload, but is, in fact, living with new people away from home, and dealing with all the problems that come with it. Common problems that can arise include issues around cleaning and chores, but also noise complaints and different sleep/life schedules. Here are some tips to try and help you solve some of these issues: Don’t retaliate . Although it is so tempting to dump your flatmates washing on the floor when they leave it in the machine for days or allow your own washing up to build up to show them how annoying it is. In the long run, this is not the best solution. Retaliation just gives more of a reason for them to continue and react back. Instead, try to ensure you keep doing your own jobs so that they have no reason to argue back with you. Create a rota . The best way to solve any arguments about chores such as cleaning is to create a rota at the start of the year...

AWAITING THE ODDS OF LIDC (RESULTS)

Image
Do not be intimidated by the results, do not be cynical either. Just be aware of how much you have already achieved.......   'Even the most diligent and talented students sometimes struggle in exams. The outcome of an exam does not define you, or your intelligence''......   Never quit. Be proud of yourself and dedicate your success to those who really love you, including to yourselves."      We are slowly heading to the day results will be posted. Most of us have mixed feelings. I can personally feel a sense of relief but, also, I feel stressed. I try not to think negatively. I think it is crucial for all of us to enjoy our  vacations, to refill our batteries and relax. Whatever has happened, it’s over now! Whenever I feel stressed and under the weather, I try to remember an old Chinese saying:     Don’t worry about things that can change and things that cannot be changed!  ...

Leadership as a Result of Following Your Education Path

Image
Not everyone is a born leader. However, leadership is less of a talent and more of a skill, which means it is something people must learn and improve. High education students enjoy the unique opportunity of simultaneously improving their leadership skills while at the same time getting a better shot at a promising career. “ Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other” – said John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Taking this into consideration, we have decided to share the advantages of high education in the creation and development of leadership skills. Confidence  “A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others” -Douglas MacArthur The more you invest in your education, the more likely you are to be recognized for your abilities. Once you take at least a small leadership role, you will be able to show off your abilities and prove what you can. Kn...
